What is Celebrate the Journey?

For 40 years, Pastor Mark Schulz has led and guided Peace Church.  In the last five years, we have been pursuing a vision entitled Navigating True North: a renewed, intentional spiritual journey toward Jesus, our True North.  And this year, we celebrate the journey, spanning decades and more recent years: the people, the learning, the life changes, the buildings, the transitions, and the real-world experiences. Our theme, “Celebrate the Journey,” captures it all.

The main section has a light blue background with a world map watermark, featuring bold black text that says 'Learning & Rejoicing' and smaller text below that reads 'Classes, Opportunities, & Events'. To the right, there is a pie chart icon in grayscale.

First and foremost, we are aligning our Bible classes and learning opportunities with a celebration mindset. We are also adding events that help us celebrate all that God has done in our midst.

Life Groups are a key aspect of our church community. Life groups are small groups of adults (usually 6-12 people ) who share life experiences and encourage one another in their faith journey with Jesus.

Peace Church has expanded its facility in some beautiful ways through the years (see photos below). For the last 17 years, we have been making substantial payments on a mortgage. As of December 1, 2025, the mortgage has been paid off!  Thanks for your ongoing generosity to Jesus’ mission through

FIXING EXTERIOR BUILDING ISSUES (3/4/2026):
We are working hard to maintain and improve our building. You may have already noticed a crew doing work on the exterior of our building. Long story short, we are doing repairs to our stucco exterior that will cost about $100,000. These repairs will set us up for another 20-30 years (or longer) of structural integrity. See below for more details. Thankfully, we have money set aside from previous building campaigns to completely cover these costs.

The newest parts of our building are now 20 years old, so we know more things will come up. We are being proactive with building maintenance, and alongside that, we are beginning to dream and plan for updates and upgrades to continue our impact well into the future. Having just paid off our mortgage, we have a great opportunity to invest our resources back into these projects. It’s an exciting time at Peace, and we are grateful for a supportive and future-oriented congregation. If you’d like to contribute to the work of the ministry, you can always donate to our OneFund account or reach out to Tonya (tonyai@mypeacechurch.com) for more information on how to give.

More details on the work: A crew is replacing and repairing some of the stucco because of a few issues. First, birds have been making their homes in the stucco… But the bigger issue was an incorrect installation of the flashing and foam beneath the stucco, allowing water to penetrate the stucco. Lastly, we need to have some joints filled with caulk to allow for the seasons' expansion and contraction. If you have any questions, always feel free to reach out!

A graphic titled "Transitioning from Pastor Mark to Pastor Ethan" with a world map background, divided into two sections labeled "True North" and "Peace," featuring an airplane icon and a circular logo.

Our pastoral transition has been in the works since 2021, and we are grateful to see how God is working through this process. Ethan and Mark have been working together to ensure the congregation has a smooth transition, and we celebrate how God has sustained our community. Ethan has taken over running our weekly staff meetings and their administrative oversight. We have a strong and dedicated team of ministry leaders at Peace, and if you have any questions about the transition process, please feel free to reach out to any of the pastors or the Board of Deacons.

The left section reads 'TRUE NORTH' with an airplane icon and the phrase 'VISIONING' in bold black text, followed by 'THE FUTURE OF PEACE CHURCH' in smaller black text. The right section reads 'PEACE' in bold white text with a grey circular logo, and a small airplane icon near the bottom.

Peace has had a clear and compelling vision for a long time. Most recently, “Navigating True North” has helped our congregation delve deeper into God’s Word, foster stronger relationships, and engage in local missions. We are beginning to look ahead at what is coming next, and we would love your input as part of our visioning process. Stay tuned!

This year at Peace, we are celebrating the faith journey that is ours with Jesus and one another.  As part of the celebration, Pastor Mark and Lynette invite you to join them on a 10-day journey to Greece, where you will walk in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul in places where he brought the Gospel: Thessaloniki, Athens, Ephesus (in modern-day Turkey), and Corinth.  The dates for the trip are May 11-20, 2027. There will be much to admire in terms of physical beauty as we cruise the Greek islands and visit Mykonos, Patmos, and Crete.  We’ll see the tourist sites, but this will also be a faith pilgrimage as we engage with God’s Word through Paul’s letters to churches in this region. We’ll be inspired in our own faith journey as we read Paul’s words to the church in Corinth:  “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” (1 Corinthians 9:24–25, NIV84)

We know this is a special time at Peace, and we will be Celebrating the Journey. We pray that, no matter where you are on your walk with Jesus, it is a time for you to be celebrating, too.
