Candidates for Chair-Elect (Vote for One)

Aaron Libner

My wife, Erin, and I have been members of Peace Church for many years. We were married at Peace in 2016 and are blessed to be raising our daughter, Raelynn, in a church family that has played an important role in our lives and faith journey.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, exploring parks, playing board games, and interacting with our newest member of our family, puppy Rex. Family is incredibly important to me, and some of my favorite moments are simply making memories together.

At Peace, I have been involved through worship, Bible studies, hospitality, congregational events, and serving as a Deacon. Peace has helped me grow in my faith and has provided opportunities to serve alongside many people who care deeply about Christ and our church family.

Outside of Peace, I currently serve as President of Fierce Freedom, an organization focused on ending human trafficking through education and awareness. I am also a Past President of the Rotary Club of Eau Claire and have served on numerous boards, committees, and community organizations throughout the Chippewa Valley. Giving back to our community has always been important to me and is one way I seek to live out my faith.

My relationship with Jesus influences how I approach life, leadership, and service. As part of Peace's Spiritual Gifts Assessment process, one of my strongest identified gifts was Administration. Looking back, I can see how God has used that gift throughout my life in ministry, business, and community service to help bring people together around a common vision and purpose. Each year through Coulee Tech we bring men from around the area to Men’s Ministry No Regrets Conference, put on at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI. Last year, we had 150 men come from our efforts bringing men together in worship and biblical discussions.

I was honored to be nominated for the Chair-elect position. Prior to being nominated, I had already been prayerfully considering whether this was a role God might be calling me to pursue. Through conversations with church leaders, encouragement from others, my experience serving as a Deacon, and the confirmation of my spiritual gifts, I believe God may be opening the door for this opportunity to serve.

If selected, my goal would be simple: to serve faithfully, support our pastors, staff, volunteers, and congregation, and help Peace continue guiding people to fully live as followers of Jesus.

Candidates for Treasurer (Vote for One)

Vicki Doriott

I’ve been married to Jerry since 1992, and we have 2 very sweet cats who are sisters. For fun I enjoy line dancing, golfing, taking walks, reading books, traveling, playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles.

My current involvement at Peace includes playing keyboard in bands over 20 years, being in life groups for about 30 years, and entering the offerings into the database for the last few years.  Last year Jerry and I joined the Feed My Starving Children Committee.  Previously I led a counting team, assisted with conducting the internal audit of the financial data, went on a mission trip to the Dominican to help build a Casa house, sang in choir, served on the Love Eau Claire committee, served as a Stephen Minister, worked in the kitchen, led Divorce Care ministry for 2 years with my husband, worked VBS and attended many Bible studies.

My relationship with Jesus began as a child going to Sunday School and church.  I got to know Jesus on a deeper level in my early 20s as the Holy Spirit chose a variety of ways to draw us closer to Jesus as a family.  I have walked with Jesus by faith for many years now, seeking His guidance in my life, praising Him through worship, serving Him in a variety of ways and seeking to know Him by reading the Word.  He is my rock.

Since being nominated for Treasurer, I have pondered my qualifications, talents and work experience and feel that they align with the duties of the role of Treasurer.

I worked for over 40 years in banking and accounting jobs.  I’ve been a mortgage loan processer, mortgage loan officer, and Loan Servicing Supervisor.  After moving to Eau Claire in 1992 I attended UWEC and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree; later I would return to take another year of accounting courses to qualify me to sit for the CPA exam.  I obtained my CPA license in 2003 (it expired after I retired).

In Eau Claire I worked at Grace Lutheran Foundation as staff accountant and as Director of Accounting, preparing financial statements and account reconciliations, supervising the accounting staff, and working closely with the CFO and with the external auditors.

I worked in public accounting for one year in order to qualify for my CPA license.

In 2005 I was hired as Senior Accountant/Analyst in the finance department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, where I had worked the last 15 years of my career until I retired in 2020. At that job I prepared 30 to 40 journal entries for month-end close, prepared many account reconciliations, prepared the financial statements for the hospital/clinic, and the consolidated financials for NWWI region. I have prepared many reports for internal analysis and for the Board of Directors. Eventually I would review and approve the work of other accountants/analysts. All of our work was audited by Wipfli CPA firm. I also worked on a team whose purpose was to review cash controls and processes.

John Roffler

My wife, Pam, and I have been members of Peace for 15 years. Before joining Peace, we were members of Epiphany Lutheran Church where I served in several leadership roles, including the Board of Elders, Chairman of the Board of Elders, Financial Secretary and Chairman of the Finance Committee. My wife and I also participated in Bible studies and helped with special events for both the church and school.

Our three children, Seth, Luke and Mary, all graduated from Eau Claire Lutheran School. Seth and Luke are married, and Mary now lives in heaven with Jesus. I also have two older sons who are married. We have seven grandchildren, with another expected in September.

At Peace, my wife and I have participated in various Bible studies, helped with Wednesday night meals, assisted with setup for funeral meals, and served at the Fee My Starving Children event. I also serve on the communion team and occasionally fill in as a Sunday morning greeter.

I worked at NSP/Xcel Energy for 44 years: 25 years in payroll and the remainder handling customer billing and sales tax. I also held several positions with our company credit union, concluding my service as chair of the audit committee.

For fun, we enjoy traveling to visit family, taking day trips, fishing when we can, and spending time with my sisters here in town.

My relationship with Jesus has helped me become more caring and intentional in the way I live and treat others. My wife and I have devotions every night, and I continue to be amazed by how much there is still to learn from the Bible and from what Jesus teaches us.

Whether elected or not, I look forward to staying involved at Peace and being part of the wonderful things happening here.

Candidates for At-Large (Vote for Four)

Donna Austad

I began attending Peace in 1978 when I was a student at UW-EC. Slowly Peace became my home church and my extended family.  I was married here in 1981, raised our daughters here, and received support through all aspects of life here. My involvement at Peace changed as work/family life changed. When the girls were young and I was working, I helped with Sunday School, Discovery Club and Vacation Bible School. (I still sub for Discovery Club and work as a guide in VBS, now with the granddaughters.)  I work with the Altar Guild, Wednesday Night Meal team and funeral lunch team.  I enjoy attending and learn so much at the Tuesday morning Bible Study.  I’ve been a Stephen Minister for 3 years and recently started working with the Feed My Starving Children team.

Professionally, I worked for the City of Eau Claire for 30 years, retiring in 2017.  After working through major life changes, it may now be time for me to re-fire and time to contribute to the Peace family in a new way as a deacon.

Karen Blodgett

I have been married for 39 1/2 years to my wonderful husband, and we are blessed with three adult children, their spouse and nine amazing grandchildren, ranging in age from 6 years old to 2 months. I truly enjoy spending time with my family and seeing God’s work at home through relationships, growth, and love.

My favorite activity is spending time with our grandkids! If I am not with them, you will find me outdoors, enjoying activities such as hiking, biking, camping, and anything that involves water, including fishing and paddle boarding. Being outdoors helps me stay refreshed, grateful, and grounded.

My faith has been an active part of my life, and for many years I have served and participated in many ministries at Peace. I have been a member of the Tuesday morning Bible Study and small group for over 20 years. Since 2017, I have been an active member of Stephen Ministries, and I also belong to a year-round small group that supports one another and helps us grow deeper through God’s Word.

I previously served as part of a Wednesday night meal team and then served as a leader on another team. I was a confirmation small group leader for three years. I have traveled with other Peace members on a mission trip to New Orleans to help serve and assist with rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina. In addition, I served as a member of the Women’s Ministries team for several years.

My relationship with Jesus shapes my daily choices. The more I learn about Him, the more I want to live in response to Him and understand what that means in practical ways. I believe that as I continue to learn, I become more compassionate and less judgmental. My desire is to keep growing in faith and to serve more faithfully in response to the blessings I’ve received.

I am retired, but throughout my professional life I have spent many years working with non-profits and their board members. That work strengthened my skills in leadership, planning, and facilitating teams. I am a detailed and organized person who genuinely enjoys developing plans and setting clear steps to make sure goals are carried out.

Because I care deeply about serving others, I would welcome the opportunity to serve Peace with dedication, care, and practical support in the role of deacon.

Ruth Collis

I have lived in Eau Claire permanently since 1982 with my husband, Michael. We will be celebrating 45 years of marriage in August. We have three children, one grandchild and a very large dog. We have been members at Peace since the late 1990’s. Previously we were members of St. Mark’s Lutheran. Before retirement I was a surgical technologist, spending most of my 45-year career at Sacred Heart Hospital. I was a clinical instructor for CVTC for 20 years teaching in the Surgical Technology Program and the Central Sterilizing Program.

We were drawn to Peace because of the welcoming atmosphere and opportunities for our children at that time to be involved in different youth activities that would help them grow in their faith.

Currently, since retirement, I’ve been much more involved with different activities in the church. I am one of four leads for funeral lunches, lead the Coffee and Donut ministry on Sunday mornings, and very active in the kitchen, whether it is for Wednesday night meals or VBS treats in the summer.

I am also active in serving with the FMSC program both feeding the team that comes to lead our packing and doing the packing as well. I am on the Quilting team that provides quilts that go to Mexico with our team that builds houses each year. I do try to pick at least one bible study that is offered each year to participate in and actively do daily devotions at home.

When I’m not busy with things at church I love to sew, garden, travel, cook and bake. In the past I have been busy caring for my mother-in-law (who recently passed) so more time is open for my garden and my flowers.

Brenda Kaese

I have been married to Paul for 36 years. We both grew up in the Twin Cities and moved to Eau Claire in 1995. Both of us grew up going to Church with our families but neither of us was raised Lutheran. When we arrived in Eau Claire we visited a variety of Churches. PEACE CHURCH stood out as the most welcoming. We liked that they had strong programming for our children.

Over the last 25 years we have realized that PEACE CHURCH has so much more to offer. We have seen that this church community relies on members to step-up and step-in to service. That resonates with me! I appreciate opportunities to learn, to grow in my faith and to serve in the community where I live including the world beyond Eau Claire. I have continued to be impressed by all of the invitations to be a part of PEACE CHURCH. I am often reminded to explore and share my talents, to join in groups and to give back to this family that God has blessed us with.

I am not an outgoing personality so being a part of active projects has been a comfortable way to get to know many people who consider PEACE their extended family.  Now I consider them my family too! I started volunteering when my children were young by teaching Sunday school and helping at VBS. Since I worked as a Speech Therapist in the Eau Claire schools I decided that I should step out of my “kid” comfort zone. I have enjoyed being part of small group Bible studies and other short-term commitments while I was working.

My husband and I have been very involved in the home building ministry, Casas por Cristo. I have been part of building teams sponsored by PEACE in Juarez, Guatemala and Dominican Republic. Upon retirement I committed to Stephen’s Ministry training and served as a Stephen’s Minister for 5 years. That was a faith growing experience!

Over the years at PEACE CHURCH my own faith has been fed and nurtured in ways that would not have been possible without the guidance and direction from the staff and the community here. Today I describe my faith as my “firm foundation” Experiences here such as sermons, Bible studies, speakers, fellowship and service opportunities have led me to see my life circumstances as God’s plan for me. My choice is to persevere in the challenging times knowing that God has my purpose in mind. When I was challenged by health issues in our family, my faith and the support and prayers of my PEACE family kept me strong. Celebration times at PEACE CHURCH remind me to rejoice and give praise for each day. I would not be the person I am today without this foundation.

I would like to give back to this community by serving as a deacon here. I am excited about being a part of what is to come for PEACE. I will try to offer my perspective and prayerful support to keep the PEACE family on a path to DISCOVER/GROW/GO.

Angela Krause-Kuchta

I began attending Peace in the late 1990’s until 2006 when I married my husband, Paul Kuchta, and we attended a different church for a few years. We returned when our now teenage son, Caleb, was about 3 years old. Over the years, I have been involved in a variety of activities at Peace. I was part of the hand chime choir and even served as the director for a short time. I enjoy serving on one of the Wednesday night meal teams, the prayer chain, and was honored to be part of the Visioning Committee that developed our “True North” vision. I have been attending women’s events this last year and really enjoyed the women’s retreat this spring. I have been part of Bible studies and have been in a couple’s small group for over 10 years. Each of these activities have allowed me to connect with others and/or grow in my faith.

I have a passion for education, space exploration, and biology, so I am blessed to teach science part-time at Menomonie High school and also serve as the Director of Education for a non-profit organization, Orion’s Quest, that connects researchers who have research on the International Space Station to students around the world. The more I learn about the world around me, the more I see God’s majesty, creativity, and awe-inspiring love for us. Being able to be a light in the public school is another blessing, though sometimes hard. A special opportunity I have to share Christ with kids is as an adult leader for the Menomonie FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).

When I’m not working, I love to bake - dark chocolate is delicious! With my family, I enjoy the outdoors - biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. My son races mountain bikes and cross-country skiing so these days there is a lot more watching than doing, but it is a joy to see him use his talents competing.

I can’t imagine life without Jesus. Life can be hard, but through many circumstances I have seen God’s faithfulness time and again. My mother, Marlynn Krause, was my first mentor showing me how to lean on Jesus in all things. Her example of reading God’s word and applying it has encouraged me to do the same. I strive to have a quiet daily time. I’m currently reading through The Book of Mysteries (Johnathan Cahn). It has been thrilling to make connections between the Hebrew and prophecy of the Old Testament and how they relate to our everyday life. Sharing with others - my family, small group, and other believers - helps me to encourage them and to learn other perspectives. As I learn more through Scripture and get confirmation from the Holy Spirit on how I should live, my actions become guided by Truth. That isn’t always popular in the secular world, but I believe in sharing the Truth in love. I am interested in becoming a deacon candidate because I believe that I can bring a positive perspective to church business and provide encouragement to our church leadership. I will be open to listening to concerns of the congregation. Through prayerful consideration I will attempt to discern God’s will in my service to the church.

Tyler Moy

I graduated from Mondovi High School in 2004. I attended UW-Eau Claire and played football for the Blugolds from 2005-2008. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education in December of 2009. For the next 8½ years I was a teacher and coach in the School District of Mondovi, during which time I also attended Viterbo University to obtain my Master of Education and Principal License. I have spent the last 8 years working as a building principal in Boyceville, Augusta, and currently Mondovi.

During this journey, my high school sweetheart, Ashley, and I became members of Peace and then were married in the church in June of 2012. Our family grew in 2015 with the arrival of our first son Paxton, again in 2018 with the birth of our second son Kaiden, and then again in 2022 when we were blessed with our third son Brecken. This part of our lives was quite trying but really pushed Ashely and me to become closer with God. We often reflected on Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We are very grateful to now be extremely busy trying to juggle all their schedules and keep up with their daily energy!

When we can get away, we enjoy camping with family and friends during the summer months. I also enjoy spending time hunting and officiating high school football and basketball. While these activities don’t always include my wife, I am getting to spend more of these times with my boys as they get older. I truly cherish this more individualized time with them as we learn and grow together through the gifts God has given to us.

I have become more involved with the church over the course of the past year. With all our boys are now Sunday School age, I felt it was time to begin giving back in other capacities. I have been assisting with Sunday morning services as a slideshow operator since last fall. When presented with the opportunity to continue my service to the church community as a Deacon, I knew I needed to pursue it. God opened this door through an invitation, so I needed to see what he had planned for me.

While my hours of service at the church may not be as vast, I do also spend many hours each year volunteering for a variety or organizations in the Mondovi community. These include spending time assisting our school PTA, working as a trainer during youth hunters education field days, completing work for our local conservation club, and coaching multiple youth sports teams to name a few. Through this volunteer work and my career as a principal, I believe God’s plan for me is to be a positive influence on every student and adult I get the opportunity to work with. I believe your daily attitude is a mindset that we have complete control over through the help of Jesus, and it is He who helps me be that guiding light each day.

Riley North

My name is Riley North, and my life is joyfully rooted in faith, family, and community. I have been married to my husband, Austin, for three years, and at home we enjoy spending time with our sweet Tortie cat, Tilly. We live on the north side of Eau Claire, a place that has become special to us because it keeps us close to both of our family, mine in Wisconsin Rapids and Austin’s in New Auburn. Family has always been a central part of my life, and being called Auntie RyRy is one of my greatest joys. Austin and I met in college, and choosing Eau Claire as our home felt natural, both for its location and for the sense of belonging we found here, specifically at Peace Church.

I currently work as an Account Support Representative in Employee Benefits for Alera Group. I enjoy getting to work closely with local HR professionals, helping them find benefit plans that empower their employees to live healthier, happier lives. Outside of work, I love spending time with close friends, visiting the farmers market, and playing pickleball. Austin and I also enjoy rock hunting along the river shorelines—well, he enjoys it for hours, and I enjoy it for about five minutes before settling in with a book or a nap on the beach. Lately, I’ve been learning golf in an attempt to keep up with him, and while I don’t always hit the ball, I’m having fun trying.

Peace has truly been one of the greatest blessings in my life. I recently finished another year volunteering with children’s ministry, helping with 3rd grade Discovery Club and serving as a substitute Sunday School teacher. Austin and I lead a small group of young couples, and this fall marks nearly three years of growing together in faith and friendship. From 2020–2022, I served on staff as a youth ministry intern, where I had the privilege of helping lead our youth band and walking alongside students during a challenging season in our church. I continued as a small group leader from 2022 through 2024. I have also enjoyed serving with the Feed My Starving Children and organizing workplace donations for Rescued and Redeemed. In 2024, Austin and I participated in the Casas por Cristo mission trip, an experience that strengthened our desire to serve others. I am especially excited to help with VBS this year and to witness how God uses it to bless our families and community.

Jesus is the foundation of my life. I am deeply grateful to know Him personally and to serve Him each day. My parents raised me in a Lutheran church and sent me to a Lutheran elementary and middle school—formative experiences that helped shape my faith and my understanding of God’s love. I strive to serve God by serving others and to reflect Christ in my interactions. Keeping the Lord at the center of my life has grounded me in truth and reminded me of His faithfulness, especially in difficult seasons.

Over the past couple of years, I have felt the Holy Spirit gently nudging me to consider serving as a deacon. Although I have sometimes questioned my qualifications, I believe God has given me a unique perspective and has been preparing my heart for this possibility. My experience serving on staff during a difficult time in our church, along with my continued involvement at Peace, has given me a desire to be a voice for younger members of our congregation. My top spiritual gifts—shepherding, mercy‑showing, and evangelism—align closely with the heart of the Board of Deacons. I believe God is calling me to use these gifts in a new way, and I am humbled and excited by the opportunity to serve.

Randy Roseen

I live in Chippewa Falls and I am a Physical Therapist working in home care. I am married to Jessica and we have two married children. Noah and his wife, Maddy, live in Ely, Minnesota and Grace and her husband, Jack, live in Eau Claire. Together, we enjoy camping in our van, hiking, visiting local and National Parks. I also enjoy bike riding, fly fishing, Lego building, and I do a bit of drawing in my free time.

We were blessed to find Peace church about three years ago, when we were in need of energy in our spiritual life.  The bible studies we attended showed us Peace was a place we could learn and grow. We joined the Casas Por Cristo trip before becoming members and found people who have the same interests and desire to help others. I have participated in multiple bible studies, men’s retreats and small group events since joining the church which have helped me to build relationships and feel more connected to Peace church. I have participated in Feed My Starving Children and I am now a part of the organizing group. Being a part of a life group with other couples has been quite a blessing for Jessica and me.

Throughout my life, I have been blessed by knowing people who were examples of living a life like Jesus.  I have been impressed by how naturally they lived that life and it has been something I wanted for myself. With these examples in my life, it was always easy to say I have trust in Jesus in a passive way.  I was feeling stale in my faith journey and felt like something was missing.  Jesus lived as an example of what to strive for in our lives. Coming to Peace has helped me in my efforts to do a better job of living that out more actively every day.  I am working to live in a way that daily shows a grateful heart for the gift of grace I have been given through His life and death.

When I was asked to become a deacon, I was honored to be asked to help Peace Church with its mission to guide others to fully live as followers of Jesus.  I feel my organizational skills, history of working with teams and a desire to affect the direction of this Church that has blessed me would make me a good fit.

Bill Westerlund

I have been happily married to Jeanne for 46 years. We have two sons and two daughters and 3 grandsons.

Jeanne and I still enjoy road trips, visiting museums, Civil War battlefields and of course spending time with our children and grandchildren. I particularly enjoyed reading in my retirement years, having retired from the practice of law six years ago. I have been known to take a walk in the woods following a golf ball.

I am involved in a couple’s small group and a men's small group at Peace. I volunteer for hospitality, the high school youth group and serve on the Peace Policy Committee.

I have learned that my daily devotional and prayer time is essential in my attempt to have Christ's perspective on my world. I am challenged, but He sustains me.

I have been attending Peace for approximately 15 years and previously served on the church board for three of those years. I believe I have something to offer based on that experience. I have been very blessed by my time at Peace and would hope to return even a small portion of that blessing as a board member, especially in this time of transition in pastoral leadership. Regardless of my future role, I look forward to seeing Peace's future unfold and being a part of it.
