Week of December 28, 2025
Daily Bible Readings
New Years gives us an opportunity to consider anew our own lives and the journey on which we find ourselves. Take some time this week to dwell on where you’ve been, where you are, and where you are going. But as you engage with such a process, always operate from a place where the Spirit of God dwells. Embrace the gospel of freedom for you. And see what needs to be shift in your life to allow the Gospel more room.
Monday | John 15:1-5
Jesus invites us to abide in him, to find our fruitfulness not in our efforts, but in our connection to him. Why do you think true fruitfulness can only flow from the presence of God? How connected to Jesus have you been this past year, and are there any ways you’d like to grow in your trust of God? Where did you notice yourself relying on things other than the love of God?
Tuesday | Psalm 90:1-11
When we consider the weight of our sin and the heaviness of the struggles we have, the past can take on extra weight. But God has set us free by the power of Jesus’ sacrifice to move past the past. What imagery from Psalm 90:3-11 really caught your attention? Why is it so easy to get stuck in the past? What do you need to confess before Jesus- and what parts of your heart need to hear Jesus’ words of forgiveness?
Wednesday | Psalm 16:5-11
We have the peace and presence of Jesus right now- the lines have fallen in pleasant places. Your current reality is a blessing, no matter how much you’d like to see changed. Listen for the loving counsel and wisdom of God. What blessings are filling your life currently? How can gratitude become an anchor for our soul in an uncertain world? Why is regular time in God’s Word so necessary for our peace now and growth in the future?
Thursday | Romans 12:1-2
God has made his will understandable to us. When we sit with him, analyze our brokenness, and enjoy his peace here and now, we can look ahead with different perspective. What patterns are you hoping to change in your life in 2026? God’s transforming power makes anything possible, so how are you relying on his grace and gospel promises to empower this?
Friday | Psalm 90:12-17
The heart of wisdom seeks gladness in God’s goodness. The heart of wisdom puts hands to work. Jesus has joy for you in your growing and going. What is one thing you are glad for in 2025? As you look toward 2026? What efforts do you pray God blesses this year? How can we orient all our work toward the Kingdom work God is doing in us and through us?
