Monday | Colossians 3:16-17 & 22-24
We can connect this to whatever we do for work. In what ways have you considered your occupation to be serving God? In what ways is it difficult for you to maintain this attitude? How does this attitude apply to how you approach your relationships with a boss or manager? A coworker? A customer?
Tuesday | Ephesians 6:5-9
Paul repeats here much of what we read yesterday. What different thoughts come up in this passage? How are you tempted to be a “people pleaser” rather than really care about people at work? How would you describe your heart when it comes to your work relationships? How might God be calling you to change?
Wednesday | 1 Peter 2:9-17
Clearly, not everyone at work would be a non-believer; however, chances are that you will encounter several of them in your work. How can your attitude at work be a good OR a bad witness to being a Christ follower? How are you tempted to give in to the ways of the world in your work? How might your godly attitudes and actions influence others in a positive way?
Thursday | Luke 3: 7-18
John points out that following God’s way will call for repentance and change in every aspect of our lives, including work. In the examples, he instructs soldiers and tax collectors to stop focusing on what they can get and be considerate of others. How might God talk to us about our work relationships, if we asked Him, “What shall we do?”
Friday | Philippians 2:3-11
In the workplace, most of us tend to be concerned about our own rights and rewards for our efforts. What would it look like if we applied this teaching to how we deal with others in the workplace? In what ways would it be appropriate and helpful? What caveats might you think of when seeking to be a loving servant at work? What is one way you could display more of a servant attitude to others at work, let them see God’s goodness through you?
