Week of July August 10, 2025
We continue with our Scripture study on powerful faith words. This week’s word is taken from the theme of the National Youth Gathering our youth recently attended, “Endure.”
We are called to endure faithfully and follow Jesus closely as we endure hardships. And we find hope in God’s enduring love for us, as evidenced in what Christ endured to save us.
Monday | Hebrews 11:23-40 (or read the whole chapter)
As you read through this list of Biblical characters and their faithful endurance in following God, what stands out to you and why? What Biblical stories of faith endurance are particularly meaningful to you? How can looking back at how others endured through hardship encourage you to endure in your faith journey?
Tuesday | Hebrews 12:1-13
How would you describe the race that God has set before you, and what difficulties are you enduring to be faithful to Jesus? What contemporary “witnesses” have helped you to endure in faith? How does reflecting on what Jesus endured for you raise your spiritual and emotional endurance level?
Wednesday | Psalm 118
In what ways have you experienced the steadfast love of the Lord that helped you deal with struggles? Reflect and make a list of these experiences from the past year or two? How might you share your experiences to help someone endure their hardships?
How has the Lord proved to be your “strength, song, and salvation”?
Thursday | Revelation 2:8-11
What struggles have you personally encountered because you follow Jesus? In what specific ways do you think it is difficult to be a faithful Christ follower in the US today? How does the glimpse of “crown of life” waiting for you help you to keep moving forward in faith?
Friday | John 16:25-31
Jesus does not call us to endure in faith on our own. He has gone before us and done it perfectly, and He promises that we are not alone. His victory is ours. How do you need Jesus to help you overcome the world right now? What help do you need to trust his promise? Who can help you endure faithfully to the end?
