Week of June 28, 2026

Monday | Psalm 139:1-6
Looking to the future begins with celebrating God’s full knowledge of all things. What are you trying to hide from God? Why do you think it’s important to bring our whole being before God? How have you felt “hemmed in” by God, or overwhelmed by his omniscience (all-knowing nature)?

Tuesday | Psalm 139:13-18
God has our whole lives planned out, and God has been with us every step of the way. You are hand-built, redeemed, and secure forever by God’s Word. How does that influence your self-perception, to hear “Your works are marvelous” (v.14)? What comfort and strength is there in knowing God has already worked out our whole lives? Why do you think spending time with God can be a challenge for us, when the reality is that He is always with us?

Wednesday | Psalm 139:23-24
The psalm ends with a prayer of confession. Know where I am right now, and set me on the right path moving forward. God knows your heart already- what value is there in praying for God to know your heart? What concerns are you carrying, and how are they keeping you from closeness with Christ? What “offensive ways” do you need to leave for the sake of the everlasting way?

Thursday | Jeremiah 29:10-14
God made a promise to his people that there would be a future- something after this. It’s hard to celebrate the promise while in a bad place. Think of a hard time, and how you got through it. Looking back, how have you seen God work through it? Why do you think God clarifies that his plans are not to harm us? For what do you find yourself waiting right now, and how can you use this time as an opportunity for spiritual growth?

Friday | Romans 8:15-18
Fear does not orient us toward our future. We are oriented by an eternal inheritance, which puts our suffering into perspective. What sufferings have you experienced, and how have they helped orient you toward the future Jesus has in store? Why is a willingness to suffer in the present a sign of faithfulness? What role does the Holy Spirit play in our celebrating the future?
